Post date: February-14-2020
Miptech Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of EPAM has submitted its unique antibacterial membrane manufacturing technology “METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FILTER MEMBRANE FOR INHIBITING MICROORGANISMS” for applying patent worldwide. Till end of 2019, the patent application is approved by Taiwan, USA, Japan, Korea, Singapore and EU. The other countries are still under review process.
Membrane biofouling due to microbial growth and biofilm formation is one of the most challenging issues in membrane separation for water and wastewater treatment. Antibacterial membrane or anti-biofouling membrane is a membrane capable of reducing or inhibiting microbial growth on membrane surface.
The patent process of Miptech allows the nano-zinc particles and polymer material to be linked together stably so as to form a plastic masterbatch having nano-zinc particles; and making the masterbatch into an antibacterial membrane through film equipment.
